      Data & sources

      Where do the routes and data come from?

      Routing follows a curated network of professional recommended shipping lanes. Ports come from the NGA World Port Index plus terminal data, with UN/LOCODEs from the UNECE registry. Security and environmental zones are built from official IMO instruments — MARPOL Annexes, special areas and PSSAs — plus current industry piracy designations. Currents are Copernicus GLORYS12 ocean-model climatology.

      How current are the zones?

      The zones are rebuilt from the published coordinate tables, such as IMO circulars or industry publications.

      Export & accuracy

      Will my ECDIS accept the export?

      Yes. NaviBoss exports to 35 route formats — RTZ, GPX and every major ECDIS/chartplotter dialect (Furuno, JRC, Kongsberg, Sperry, Transas, Wärtsilä, SIMRAD, Raytheon, SevenCs, MaxSea, TOTEM, Chart Pilot and more), both directions. Load the file and your waypoints are inside your system.

      How accurate are the distances?

      Legs are true distances over the lane network, not straight lines on a Mercator chart.

      Is this approved for navigation?

      No. NaviBoss is a passage-planning and voyage-estimation aid. The routes derive from professional recommendations, but they are for informational purposes only and must never replace official charts, publications or your own navigation.

      What does it cost?

      The planner is free forever — a free account, no card, no expiry. Your first 7 days include everything; after that, you can export 1 route, 3 user charts and 1 report a month for free, and more exports, comparing routes side by side and keeping more than 3 saved voyages need a plan, at $12 a month or $97 a year.

      My card was refused. What now?

      That is common on a first payment abroad: many banks hold it until you approve it. Open your bank's app or the text message it sent, approve the payment, then try the checkout again. Still refused? Try another card, or from the Philippines pay with GCash or bank QR in pesos.

      Does it work on slow ship internet — or offline?

      On slow internet, yes: after the first load everything runs in your browser with no server round-trip. With no internet at all: NaviBoss Desktop, the Windows app that plans with no connection, comes with the 6 months and 1 year plans. The download is at naviboss.app/downloads.
