Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over LOA 80m. Pilots stationed at Masnedo, 55°00'N 011°53'E board off Masnedo Nord-Vest Flak at the NW entrance to Storstrom, or farther ESE within the channel in a position approx 2nm NW of Farnaes Pynt, 54°54'N 011°59'E.
Pilots for vessels entering the channel from the Baltic Sea are stationed at Hesnaes, 54°49'N 012°09'E and board off the entrance to Hestehoved Dyb.

Stubbekobing leading lights:
Front light, (post 1m in height) 54°53.6'N 012°02.8'E, situated on the W molehead.
Rear light (grey framework tower) 130m farther S.
The alignment (176°) of these lights leads S from a position approx 0.2nm N of the harbour through a channel dredged across the coastal bank, marked by pairs of buoys (lateral) and by a buoy (E cardinal) at the N end of the channel on its W side.
