Ras Shukheir Light float (safe water Racon) moored in the centre of the precautionary area which lies in the approaches to Ras Shukheir Oil Terminal. A shoal patch, with a least depth over it of 12.5m and marked by a lightbuoy, lies in the NE corner of the precautionary area.
Precautionary area: Lies in the approaches to Ras Shukheir Oil Terminal and the July, Ramadan and Morgan Oilfields.
Vessels should keep Ras Shukheir Lanby Lightbuoy, which is moored in the centre of the area, on their port side.
Anchorages
A designated anchorage for vessels awaiting a berth at the oil terminal lies on the E side of the Gulf of Suez about 1.5nm S of Ras Abu Suweira (28°16'N 033°33'E).
An anchorage, 1nm in diameter, is situated 6.5nm SE of Ras Shukheir. Anchorage is prohibited NW of it.
Vessels using this anchorage should note IMO rules for ships navigating in the Gulf of Suez. Vessels leaving the designated anchorage should time their transit through the precautionary area to avoid impending vessels in the N and S bound traffic lanes.

LPG Terminal:
Offshore dangers: A submarine gas pipeline from the Badri Oilfield leads close W of the terminal to land on the shore about 0.4nm SSW. Two spar buoys N and NW of the berth mark the lie of the pipeline.
No 1 Production Platform lies in the approaches to the terminal, about 2.5nm NW of Ras Dib. A submarine oil pipeline extends SSW from the platform to the shore.
