Oigawa is located in the central part of Shizuoka Prefecture and is a Yaizu Municipal Port constructed by dug into the left bank of the mouth of the Oi River, a first-class river pouring into Suruga Bay.

The port handles gravel and sand to various parts of Japan. Also as a distribution base in response to demand for petroleum products, heavy oil, and cement in the region.
