Port limits

The harbour limit of Ofunato Ko is a line joining Goishi Saki and Kori Saki.

Anchorages

Anchorage is obtainable, with local knowledge, approx 0.5nm from the head of Ofunato Wan, 0.25nm from the W shore, in depths of 15.0-16.0m; the bottom is mainly mud, but the holding ground is not uniformly good, and squalls sometimes blow down from the mountains.

Caution: A submarine cable is laid between the W side of Sango Shima and the shore W, and is marked by beacons.

Tugs

1 x 2,600hp and 1 x 600hp available. Large tugs of 2,900hp and 3,200hp can be arranged from Kamaishi with advance notice.
