Approach

updated Dec 2020

Approach

To enter the fjord in the deepest water, leave Route "T" 1nm after passing Rosnaes Puller Lighthouse and steer for Kalundborg Cathedral bearing 109°. This course leads, in a least depth of 15m, between the bank which extends 1nm after passing Rosnaes Puller Lighthouse and a lightbuoy (N cardinal) marking a shoal, with depths from 11.2m to 11.9m, which lies between 1.75nm and 2.25nm S of the Lighthouse. When the right hand edge of Asnaes Peninsula bears 153°, steer for Asnaesvaerket directional lights, exhibited from grey framework towers, 10m in height and 20m apart, both of which show white in a 20m wide sector around the channel centre line (bearing 116.3°), which leads to the entrance to Kalundborg Havn.

When N of the 20m wide white sector, the N light shows red while the S light continues to show white, further N of this sector both lights will show red, similarly when S of the 20m width white sector the S light shows green and the N light continues to show white, and again, further S of this sector both lights show green. From the entrance to Kalundborg Havn alter course onto the alignment of Kalundborg Leading lights, 090.75°, exhibited at the head of the fjord, from framework towers with red triangle daymarks, this alignment leads through the entrance channel into Kalundborg Havn, which is dredged to a depth of 12.0m, min width 80m. The cutting leading to Equinor Jetty E has a depth of 15m.
