The approach channel approx 3.2km long, entrance channel approx 1.5km in length, with width of 770m and 140m, in a depth of 8.0m.
From seaward the track leads SW on the alignment 213° of a pair of Leading Lights, through the entrance channel and then between the heads of two breakwaters into the harbour. Lights are exhibited from the heads of the breakwaters.
Anchorages
There is a designated area, radius 1nm, 2nm N of the harbour entrance, for vessels awaiting a berth.
Restrictions
Vessels are not permitted to approach the port until 0600hrs local time, and must depart one hour before sunset.
