Approach
updated Jun 2018Approach
Yalta is approached between Mys Ay-Todor (44°26'N 034°07'E) and Mys Nikitin (12nm NE), by two recommended routes.
From the inshore end of the recommended routes, the final approach to Yalta leads N through waters clear of charted dangers, passing:
E of a buoy (E cardinal) which marks the edge of a coastal bank, with depths of less than 5.0m, that extends seaward from the mouth of Rika Vodopadnaya 0.6nm SW of Mys Ionna, then:
Between the head of the E and S mole. The head of the E mole, from which a small spur extends NW, is marked by a Yaltinskiy Light (white octagonal stone tower, 12m in height). Large vessels should not pass within 25m of the spur at the head of the E mole.
