The port is on the shore of the Yamen Channel, from the Yamen estuary, one of the 8 estuaries of the Pearl River (also known as the Hsi River Delta or Canton Delta) via Yinzhouhu Waterway with a length of 26km and an average width of 1,000m. Xinhui port has a bottom width of 80m and is navigable to 5,000t vessels.
