The port of Wuzhou is located on the middle reaches of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River system, on the confluence of Guijiang , Xunjiang and Xijiang rivers. It is the largest inland river port of Guangxi Province. To the E lies Guangzhou. To the N lies Guilin.
The port
The port is one of the biggest on the Pearl River system, with a shoreline of 96km, a water area of 28,980,000m² and a land area of 330,000m².
It remains ice free throughout the year and, in addition to its cargo handling, has extensive passenger services.
The main cargoes handled in the port are containers, coal, manufactured goods for daily use, chemical fertiliser, agricultural chemical, metallic and non-metallic ore, ore material and cement.
