Port limits

The S limit of Songjin Hang is a line joining Sajin Dan (40°39'N 129°13'E) and a beacon 1.75nm NNW of Yujin Dan.

Anchorages

Except with W winds, anchorage in Songjin Hang, N of Songjin Pando, cannot be considered safe. However anchorage may be obtained, in depths of approx 14.0m, approx 0.5nm N of Hanggu Dan (40°39.6'N 129°12.8'E), with fair protection from the S.

Anchorage may also be obtained, in a depth of 10.0m, sand, with Hanggu Dan bearing 142° distance 0.2nm. Although near the deep water berth, it is better protected from SE winds, frequent in the vicinity except in the winter.

Small vessels can anchor in Songjin Ohang, with depths of 0.6m to 4.0m, during N winds.
