The port is approached through a 60m wide channel on the E side of the bay. The channel has a controlled depth of 6.0m, leads NW between the banks and is marked on its E side by buoys.
Anchorages
Outer anchorages: South of Shengjinit harbour in depths from 15-22m. Recommended berths are:
With Kepi i Shengjinit bearing 023°, distant approx 1.2nm in 20-22m, sand and mud, good holding. Although this berth is exposed SW it is reported to be safe, as gales from this direction are unknown and it is well sheltered from the Bora and Scirocco.
With Kepi i Shengjinit bearing 355° distant approx 0.3nm in 13-15m, mud.
Small vessels closer inshore in depths of 9.0-10.0m.
