Approach

The channel to Seldovia on the NE side of the bay is 91m wide. Numerous shoals and rocks extend from either side of Seldovia Bay near the channel. Obstructions are marked by kelp at slack water in summer and autumn, kelp tows under during strength of tidal currents. In 2010, the marked channel had a controlling depth of 6.43m.

Anchorages

The best anchorage can be found in the middle of Seldovia Bay, 0.7nm S of Seldovia Bay Light 3 (59° 26.541'N 151° 43.279'W), in 16.45 - 18.28m depth, sticky bottom. It is well sheltered except from strong S'ly winds.

Seldovia Harbor is located in the centre of the town and very close to many fisheries. The Harbour remains ice free all year round and has numerous transient moorage areas. There are two deep water docks and 170 slips of varying sizes, there is also a modern fish cleaning float facility.
