The port of Sanbu is located on the middle reaches of the Tanjiang River, which is part of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River system. It is 58km from Yinzhou lake, which is the sea entrance.
The port
The port of Sanbu is operated by Sanbu Harbour Administration Department, Sanbu Passenger & Cargo Transport United Company and Sanbu Passenger & Cargo Transport Associated Company.
The port area is bounded by Zhenhua River entrance in the E, Kaiping raft yards in the W, Dihai Bridge and Taishanxinhe Bridge in the S and the river confluence, W of the Musha Bridge in the N. It has a shoreline of 540m, a water area of 54,000m² and a land area of 60,000m².
The main cargoes handled in the port are coal, petroleum, ore materials, cement, chemical fertiliser and agricultural chemicals.
