The approach canal and operational area will be constructed in two stages. The canal will have a length of 6,422m.
The first stage of the approach canal will have a width of 150m and depth of 11.2m. The second stage will increase the canal width to 185m and depth to 14.4m.
The approach canal will consists of two straight parts and wider turning points.
