Tides

The tidal stream in Polloc sets E on the N shore with the rising tide, and follows the bend of the coast S and W. The ebb stream sets in the reverse direction.

Approach

Polloc Harbour is entered between Lalayanga Point (07°22.7'N 124°14.8'E) and Tugapangan Point, 3nm SW.

From a position at least 1nm S of Tugapangan Point (07°24'N 124°09'E) the track leads ESE for approximately 5nm to the quarantine anchorage.

Port limits

The port limits are defined by the entrance to Illana Bay.

Anchorages

Outer anchorage: The quarantine anchorage (07°22'N 124°14'E) is in the centre of Polloc Harbour, 1nm NE of Polloc.

Anchorage can also be obtained in the N part of Polloc Harbour in Quidamak Bay, on the E side, in a depth of 15.0m, mud. Quidamak village stands on the N shore of the bay.

Inner anchorage:

Parang anchorage is on the E side of Polloc harbour, W of Parang (07°22'N 124°15'E). There is a good anchorage for large vessels 0.25nm W of the pierhead in depths of 26.0 to 27.0m.
