There are depths from 18.0 - 22.0m in the fairway of the entrance to Bukhta Plastun, and from 10.0 - 12.0m in the middle of the bay and at its head. The bottom is sandy.
Large rocks are strewn off the N and SW shores but there are depths of 7.0m, 0.1 to 0.2nm offshore.
A sandbank with depths of 7.0m and less extends 0.6nm from the head of the bay.
Reka Chisay enters the sea at the head of Bukhta Plastun. Its mouth occasionally silts up with sand but usually there is a depth of 0.6m over the bar and 3.7m farther up the river.
