The harbour is protected by Molo Sopraflutto to the S and SW and by the short Molo Sottoflutto to the NW. A light (green metal pillar on hut), exhibited from the head of Molo Sopraflutto and a light (red metal pillar on hut; 8m in height), exhibited from the head of Molo Sottoflutto, mark the entrance.
Leading lights are exhibited, the front from a white mast with a black stripe, 4m in height, standing on the inner mole. The rear light is exhibited from a similar mast, 4m in height, standing 900m SE. In line, bearing 130°, the lights lead through the dredged channel.

An explosive dumping ground extends approx 3.5nm NE from the E coast of the promontory, its W limit bordering the firing practice area and the prohibited area. Unexploded ordnance may be present on the seabed.
