Port limits

The harbour limits are lines drawn from a position 0.2nm NE of Mugho Light (37°33.1'N 129°7.2'E) E for 0.75nm, then S for 1.2nm, then W to the shore.

Anchorages

Outer anchorage: There are five designated anchorages outside the E breakwater, but with little shelter, in depths of 11.0-25.0m. The anchorages are as follows:

A1, A2 and A3, for vessels of 5,000t or less.

B1 and B2, for vessels between 5,000t and 10,000t.

Care should be taken, when using A1 and A2 anchorages, to avoid a rocky shoal, with depths of 8.1m, lying 0.5nm NNE of the head of the E breakwater.

Restrictions

Owing to limited manoeuvring room, vessels should not leave or enter with winds exceeding 10kts.

The berthing of vessels is limited to the hours from sunrise to sunset due to quarantine difficulties at night time.

Tugs

One tug is available, 1 x 1,000hp.

Repairs

Only emergency hull repairs and welding are available for ocean going vessels. Three slipways, for vessels up to 300t. Diving service can be performed.

Bunkers, water and stores

Fresh water: Available with 24 hours notice. There are water points on No 3 Pier and the central pier and for vessels at anchor, water will be provided by water barge (50t and 30t capacity barges available).

Bunkering: Bunker supplies are available. Vessels requiring bunkers should advise the quantity required with 48 hours notice to the local agent.

The bunker supply barges have the following capacities, 1 x 30t, 2 x 100t, 1 x 800t and 1 x 1,300t.

Stores: Provisions, seasonal foods and ship's chandlery are available.

Medical

Hospital at Mughojin Ri. Seriously ill patients are usually sent to Busan or Seoul.
