Hareid harbour district comprises the waters W of a straight line joining Kvitneset, the NE point of Hareidlandet and the N section of Hjorungneset.

There is no VTS in operation.

Anchorages

Exposed anchorage can be found in Hareidsbukta with good holding ground of sand and clay. Anchorage depth varies between 4.9m-6.1m. There is a further anchorage available, on sand, for large and small vessels in Hjorungavag.

Caution: Submarine cables have been laid across Sulafjorden in the vicinity of Hareid and across the mouth of the inlet to Hjorungavag, care should be taken when anchoring in these areas.

Restrictions

Night berthing and unberthing are not permitted.
