Where it is

Filyos is located at the Black Sea coast in Filyos town of Caycuma district in Zonguldak Province, northwestern Turkey.

The port

The new port of Filyos is expected handling capacity of up to 25 million tons of cargo annually. One of the five largest building investments in Turkey, the port covers an area of 606 hectares. Facilities will service the trading 'corridor' reaching from Konya and Iskenderun. The location includes a Mixed Industrial Zone benefiting the local regions of Zonguldak, Karabuk and Bartin (see separate entry), the three provinces in the area of responsibility covered by the Western Black Sea Development Agency (BAKKA).
