Approach

Directions: Approach the entrance to the harbour with great caution, and check depth of water continuously, as the depths off this part of the coast are liable to change. From a position SE of the entrance the track leads 318° between the breakwaters, with a direction light (post, 26m in height) standing on Banchina Chiesa ahead. Maintain a distance of at least 60m off the head of Molo di Levante, to avoid underwater foundations.

There are 2 separate entrances for the East and West berths.

Anchorages

Vessels awaiting berths within the port can anchor in an area 2.4km SSW of the harbour entrance. Anchor berths that lie in the N of the area are reserved for naval vessels. Anchorage positions must be reported to the port authority or pilot station. Vessels anchoring or weighing anchor have right of way within the anchorage area.

Tugs

Two tugs available.
