The port
The port accommodates all vessels that can navigate the river. Tonnage comprises of dry cargo, chemical tankers and container vessels. The port handles liquid cargo, container, break bulk cargo, scrap metal, mineral ore, reefer, grain, chemicals, bio fuel, coal and RoRo cargo.
There are four harbour areas: Altrhein, Industriehafen, Handelshafen and Rheinauhafen with a total area of 1,131ha, of which 254ha is water area, and a quay with a length of 54.5km.
