The inner channel entering to the turning basin marked by Beacon No 3 (Fl G 3s 12m 5M) position 04°28.36'E 103°28.7'E to the N and Beacon No 4 (Fl R 3s 15m 5M) position 04°14.32'N 103°28.36'E with Leading Beacon No 7 (Q G 21m 12M) position 04°15.4'N 103°27.8'E and No 9 (Iso G 4s 27m 12M) 04°15.5'N 103°27.8'E. Cukai port:
The entrance to Cukai is situated close W of Tanjung Mat Amin (04°14'N 103°2'E). It is well marked by 2 pairs of leading beacons. Vessels with a draught of no more than 2.4m and with local knowledge can enter the river. No 1 and No 2 Leading Light Beacons (white wooden framework towers, white diamond topmark) are 0.5nm W of Bukit Pejajat. They are moved as necessary to give the best lead over the bar.
Tugs
There are 2 x 3,200bhp tugs. An additional tug is available subject to requirements. There is also 1 mooring boat of 500bhp available. All towage requirements within the port limits should be requested from Kemaman Port Authority. The use of tugs is compulsory for vessels carrying LPG as a precaution against fire or accident.
Mooring
Vessel lines are hooked to bollards on the wharf by the terminal operators mooring gang. Normally three types of mooring lines, namely head, breast and stern lines are used.
General berthing information: Since entrance to the port and exit is through the same channel, all vessels at East Wharf and LPG Export Terminal will berth facing out (port side) for safety reasons.
