From a position about 2nm E of Vatnsnes Light, the track leads 2nm WNW to a position on the following leading line:
Front light (triangle point up on framework tower) standing at the head of Helgulvik Bay, 2nm WNW of the breakwater head.
Rear light (traingle point up on framework tower) standing 92m NW of the front light.
The alignment (310°) of the leading lights leads through the harbour entrance.
The entrance is marked by a light exhibited from a post at the breakwater head and a light exhibited from a post on the S shore of the bay.

Helguvik is locatated on the SW coast of Iceland, near Keflavik, S of Reykjavik.
The port
Helguvik is the main oil supply and distribution harbour for the Reykjanes area of Iceland. The port is also a trade centre with a meal factory and processing plant, cement and asphalt factories. Construction of industrial and service facilities are in progress.
Rge harbour is situated in a small bay of the same name protected from the NE by a breakwater.
