Approach

Caution: Terminal Sea Buoy, Lightbuoy No 2ES (33°54.7'N 118°27.6'W) marks the W limit of an area of pipelines and tanker berths, numerous uncharted buoys and other hazards to navigation exist.

Mooring

The following are the types of procedures the vessel's master and mooring master may apply when berthing to No 3 and No 4 berths. These procedures will vary according to vessel size, weather and sea conditions, and any restrictions. A vessel, assisted by a tug, will approach the mooring heading due W passing approx 66m W of No 7 mooring buoy. Both starboard and port anchors are dropped and positioned in approx 24m of water at No 4 berth and 22m at No 3 berth. The vessel is then moored to 7 mooring buoys. The order in which the mooring ropes are attached depend on prevailing conditions. These procedures will be reversed when leaving the berth. There will be a mooring launch in attendance at all times.

All vessels, unless otherwise legally exempt, will have a tug standing by to assist at all times.

Max draught: Max operating draughts are 15.5m for berth No 3 and 17.0m for berth No 4.
