The fairway is 15km in length and 80m in width from Buoys "D1" to "D27".
The entrance channel has minimum depth of 3.5m. The bottom of the channel is very soft mud and sand.
Anchorages
The recommended waiting anchorage is 0.5nm NE of "DC" Buoy, in depths of 9.0m. For prolonged wait vessels should anchor off Iles du Salut.
There is a designated tanker anchorage, radius 1.0-1.5nm NW of "DC" Lightbuoy, with depths of 7.0-10.0m.
Restrictions
Vessels of more than LOA 140m are restricted to draught 3.0m plus height of tide, UKC of 0.5m. Vessels less than LOA 140m are restricted to draught of 3.1m plus height of tide, UKC of 0.4m.
Berthing and unberthing possible for all types of vessel day and night.
