Approach

Baie de Collo, which lies between Cap Collo and Ras Frao, 3nm SE, is one of the best open anchorages in Algeria. It gives excellent shelter from W and N winds.
A good temporary anchorage area is Barh Ensa to the N of Cap Collo which is free from dangers and has depths of about 20m in its central parts.
Smaller vessels may anchor closer to the town, approx 100m from the shore in depths between 6m-10m.

Collo is located approx 20nm NW of Skida, on Cap Collo to the N of the Baie de Collo.
The port
Collo is mainly a small fishing port protected to the E side by a jetty, which extends on to a long breakwater and a quay to the S. Port historically used to occasionally export cork using barges to load vessels at anchor.
