About Carleton

updated Oct 2023

Where it is

Carleton is located on the S shore of the Gaspe Peninsula within Chaleur Bay.

The port

The harbour is open year round, but the assistance of ice breakers may be required. The harbour is used by small fishing vessels and pleasure craft. A small marina is located within the harbour and is operated by The Carleton Nautical Club inc. The Carleton Nautical Club marina is seasonal and is closed for the winter by mid-September. The pier provides excellent protection for the marina.

The pier, recently developed in 2019, offers a range of services as well as the berthing of small fishing vessels and pleasure craft. These services include the ability to fish off of the pier, stage/musical performances and picnics due to the numerous picnic benches installed at the N end.
