Approach
updated Jun 2016Approach
From seaward, the area resembles a nearly horizontal ridge, with no distinguishing features. The approach from seaward and through the outer mole is in the W sector of Berlevag Directional Light, on the head of the southern inner harbour mole. It has been reported that the R and G sectors of this light are reversed when shown.
Caution: The nature of the seabed can cause dangerous sea conditions, with unusually rough and confused seas, up to 6-10nm offshore. Variable currents and increased wind strengths have been reported around headlands in the area.
Anchorages
None suitable, due to exposed situation and numerous submerged rocks.
