Approach

updated Jun 2021

Approach

The port should be approached from seaward to a position with Yulin Lighthouse bearing between 100° and 110°, distant 10nm, and then direct to the anchorage and pilot boarding point. From the outer channel entrance buoy to the entrance to the harbour basin, is a channel of 1nm in length with a width of 120m and a depth of 9.0m CD. The bottom is mud and sand. The channel is well equipped with navigational aids and 10,000DWT vessels may arrive and sail at any time. Vessels of 20,000DWT can enter or exit during favourable tide conditions.

Restrictions

Due to narrow channel, the Port Authority does not allow two vessels inbound and outbound at the same time. All vessels are strictly prohibited to anchor S of Fairway Buoy. At S to SW of Gan En Jiao, there are many fishing nets with 5.0m depths. All vessels in this area should keep a distance of at least 8.5nm.

Tugs

The port has 3 tugs available.
