In such instances the vessel will be required to leave the berth and proceed to anchor until the offending condition has been eliminated or suitable repairs are effected. In the event that the situation cannot be corrected, the vessel will not be allowed to berth and load at the Floating Storage Unit. In all situations of dispute, the decision of the IOOC Berthing and/or loading master is final.

Customs and immigration

An Iranian customs officer boards each ship.

Flags

The Iranian flag must be flown while the vessel is within territorial waters.

Notices and regulations

No scaling, chipping or painting is permitted on vessels. No maintenance is allowed on machineries, main engines or auxiliaries which would render the vessel non operational.

Smoking is prohibited whilst alongside FSU except in places specified by the ship master. Cigarette ends and hot materials must not be thrown into the water. All ship's scuppers on main deck must be plugged and made oil tight and only approved mechanical means of closing the scuppers may be accepted. All vessels moored at this berth must have the eye of a steel hawser paid out to the water line and securely made fast onboard bow and stern. The hawser must be of sufficient strength to enable tugs to take the vessel to a place of safety. It is the responsibility of the master to ensure that the mooring lines of his vessels are tight at all times. One man must be on constant stand by to attend the accommodation ladder and/or gangway whilst the vessel is loading. All boiler uptakes and diesel exhaust must be clean before berthing so that no funnel sparking can occur.

In the event of an overflow and/or escape of oil into the water, loading will be suspended immediately. Loading will not be resumed until the area has been cleared of oil and conditions declared safe. It is the berthing master's duty to make periodical inspections onboard vessels at berth to ensure Terminal Fire and Safety Regulations are met. Therefore berthing masters must be allowed free access to all areas, onboard all vessels, at all times for this purpose.
