Restrictions

The start of the navigation is the end of June (end of spring ice flow). The end of the navigation is the end of September (with the formation of heavy drifting ice in the port harbour).

Two way traffic is permitted, but overtaking is prohibited in the fairway area from Cape Nikolay to Buoy No 2 and from Buoy No 4 to the port harbour. One way traffic is established in the fairway from Buoy No 2 to Buoy 4 (bar district), Vessels leaving the port will give way to vessels entering the port. The vessel must stop, leave the fairway if possible, drift or anchor in the place indicated by The Port State Control Inspection. Vessels crossing the passenger vessels traffic district should exercise particular care.

Vessels drawing up to 5.5m can enter and leave the port at any tide time. Vessels drawing from 5.5 to 7.5m can pass the bar only at HW.

With the autumn ice formation, vessels are allowed to stay in the port for cargo operations only. Vessels awaiting pilotage into the port must anchor in the area of Solomotova Spit, where ice appears later.

Safety of vessels at berth and their movement during ice conditions is provided by the duty ice breaker operation under the Harbour Master's control.

Only one vessel is allowed to moor port side to Berths 12,13 at the beginning of ice formations. Vessels mooring to berths must additionally secure themselves with steel wires, which are provided by the port, of not less than 40mm diameter, three from the bow and one from the stern. Vessels must also maintain a continuous watch on the Bridge and Engine Room, with the main engines on Stand-by. Engines should be worked ahead, starting with Slow Ahead and increasing to Full Ahead if necessary, with the rudder put half over towards the berth, to ease the tension of the moorings due to drifting ice pressure.

Tugs

Mooring operations in the port must be carried out with a pilot and tug assistance.

Requests for tugs can be made, as follows:

1. Call sign: Lotsman

2. VHF: VHF channel 6

Mooring

There are three operational deep draught berths in Anadyr sea trade port. Berth 10 is situated on the left coast of the firth on Cape Zaseleniya . Vessels drawing 7.5m can moor to the berth by their starboard side only. Berths 12 and 13 are situated on the right coast of the firth. Two vessels drawing up to 7.0m and with an LOA of not more than 240m can moor at the berths, with a distance between them of not less than 15m. The vessels ends must not project out of Berth 12 and not exceed 10m at Berth 13. Mooring vessels starboard side to at Berths 10, 12, 13 is effected only at HW and mooring vessels port side is effected not later than 2 hours after HW. Mooring operations are prohibited at wind speed of more than 27kts.
