About Al Duqm

updated May 2017

Where it is

Al Duqm (Al Duqum) is on the Gulf of Masirah, on the SE coast of Oman, 500km S of Muscat.

The port

The port handles dry bulk, minerals, breakbulk, liquids and oil cargoes. Duqm has an ambitious programme of planned development. An airport is under construction by the port with a proposed rail-based freight and passenger transport network linking the port to the national rail network.

Latterly, the port is handling a growing amount of dry bulk, including gypsum, silica sand and limestone. Dolomite has just started to be shipped by a nearby quarry from a new 300m quay, handling two vessels simultaneously.
